Ekeri AB enters partnership with Bussbygg AS

We are pleased to announce that Finnish company Ekeri Ab is in negotiations with Norwegian Bussbygg AS to become the majority owner of Bussbygg.

This strategic investment would mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both companies – with a focus on growth, sustainability, and quality in the transport industry.

Together for growth and stronger market presence

According to its strategy and vision, Ekeri has aimed to expand its operations. Bussbygg, for its part, has worked purposefully to develop its operations in Skåla since Andreas and Alf Ahdell took over the company shares in 2020.

With Ekeri as the owner, Bussbygg would gain access to valuable experience and insights, including from Ekeri’s recent factory expansion. At the same time, Ekeri would gain ownership in a company with strong roots in thermal products and a recognized quality product. Together, we would establish a solid foundation to further develop our products and increase both production capacity and quality – for the benefit of our customers and partners.

Former competitors can now become partners. For many years, Ekeri and Bussbygg have competed in a market where quality and sustainable solutions are essential. The current owners of Bussbygg will retain a significant ownership interest and remain actively involved in the daily operations.

Other terms

Final approval of the transaction is still pending and subject to approval by the relevant authorities and both companies’ boards.
The transaction is expected to be finalized in early September 2025.
