Supporting Östersjöfonden with a christmas gift
12.12.2024This year, Ekeri has again chosen to contribute financially to Östersjöfonden (the Baltic Sea Fund). This initiative is part of the company’s commitment to preserving the regional environment and our shared Nordic nature.
Collective efforts are needed
The Baltic Sea serves as a vital link between the Nordic countries, where the Ekeri Group operates, and the rest of Europe. It plays a key role in trade, the environment, and culture but also presents shared challenges.
Sara Arons, CEO of Östersjöfonden, highlights that the Baltic Sea remains one of the world’s most problematic seas. Issues such as pollution, declining fish stocks, algal blooms, dead sea beds, and microplastics necessitate coordinated efforts to restore its health.
“We are delighted that Ekeri has chosen to support our work in making the Baltic Sea healthy again. Committed companies investing in sustainability are crucial for both the local environment and the future of humanity,” says Arons.
A source of inspiration for others
Ekeri aims to support Östersjöfonden’s vital work while inspiring other companies to contribute to sustainability wherever possible.
“Donating to Östersjöfonden aligns perfectly with Ekeri’s values: to take responsibility and continuously improve while at the same time protecting the environment,” says Christian Sundqvist, CEO of Ekeri.
About Östersjöfonden
Founded in 1989 through a donation by businessman Anders Wiklöf, Östersjöfonden (the Baltic Sea Fund) is one of the oldest environmental foundations in the Nordic region.
